What we keep and why

  • Display name, account identifier and friend code: to identify your place in the game.
  • Email address, when provided: to send requested sign-in links and restore your account.
  • Confirmed choices, their wording, timestamps and journey progress: to continue the story, recall memories and show your tree and compose your private ending.
  • Your personal ending and optional memento: saved with the journey, available only to your account. The letter includes all forty recorded choices; the light portrait is shaped by their order.
  • Friend requests, accepted connections and sharing preferences: to provide optional social features.
  • Stripe customer reference and subscription status: to manage paid access when billing is used.
  • Session and technical security information: to keep you signed in, limit abuse and diagnose faults.

The game uses information to provide the journey you request, protect the service and handle account, billing and support obligations. Optional friend-path sharing is controlled by you. We do not add advertising trackers or sell your answers.

Your place on this device

The solo prologue stores its current position in this browser so you can return after refreshing. Confirmed choices are saved on the server. Clearing site data can remove your unsaved guest access; save by email to restore your journey on another device.

What other players see

Nearby players can see your display name and in-game presence. A branch on the shared tree brightens after at least five different travelers cross that connection. Your own path stays visible. This privacy threshold does not hide nearby players in the labyrinth. Accepted friends see your path only if you enable sharing. They do not receive your email or private answer text, but a route can allow someone familiar with the story to infer choices. Turning sharing off stops future route access; it cannot erase what someone has already seen or captured.

Providers and locations

Cloudflare hosts the game, stores its data and provides the Turnstile security check. When activated, a configured transactional email service delivers sign-in links. Stripe processes checkout and subscription management when used. Support forms are sent through Cloudflare Email Service to a private support mailbox hosted by Gmail. These providers may process data in countries outside your own under their service arrangements.

Support requests

When you contact support, we receive the name you choose to provide, your reply email, the topic and your message. We use them to answer your request. Your journey answers and payment details are not attached automatically. A request reference and keyed fingerprint are kept for seven days to prevent duplicate sends; the message is retained in the support mailbox as needed to resolve your request and meet any applicable obligations.

Cookies and retention

An essential session cookie keeps you signed in for up to 30 days. Sign-in links expire after 15 minutes and work once; expired session and link records are scheduled for cleanup. Saved choices and account information remain while needed to provide your account and saved journeys, until deletion is requested, subject to applicable recordkeeping obligations. Billing event records are scheduled for cleanup after 90 days. Providers may retain their own security, backup or transaction records under their policies.

Your choices and requests

You can change your display name, control sharing, remove friends and download your path within the game. To request access, correction, information about processing or deletion, contact support using your account email. We may verify ownership and explain any legally required retention. Do not send sign-in tokens or card details. Deleting a browser cookie does not delete server-side account data.
